Thinking Outside The Blocks (Taking Learning Outside)
COK: 3 hours of Curriculum
Children love to build because building is learning. Participants will learn how to select common and inexpensive materials and then place these things in the play environment to keep children building their intellectual ladder of success.
During this workshop participants will:
- Apply the principles that lead to productive play based on children’s predictable play behaviors to set a play environment.
- Explore the three necessities of productive play; time, space and materials.
- Understand a strategy for the effective use of loose parts; storage, classification and rotation.
- Create a useful play facilitation plan.
Some of these workshops may be available in shorter formats.
